Former NFL wide receiver Mike Williams died at the age of 36 after a building accident. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft and was named Offensive Rookie of the Year by the Associated Press in his first season.

Hadley Engelhard, his agent, said that former NFL wide receiver Mike Williams died Tuesday morning after he was taken off life support at a Tampa, Florida, hospital after a building accident. He was 36 years old.

Engelhard says that Williams was doing electrical work when he got hurt badly and had to go to the hospital.

"We'll miss him. He worked hard all his life. Engelhard said, "Prayers go out to his family."

Williams went to Syracuse University and was picked by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. The man from Buffalo, New York, was chosen second for Offensive Rookie of the Year by the Associated Press. He caught 65 passes for 964 yards and 11 touchdowns. He started for the Buccaneers in all 16 games.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Syracuse Orange both expressed their sadness.

"We are sad to hear about Mike Williams's untimely death, which has left our team, his old teammates, and fans with heavy hearts. "We send his family and loved ones our deepest condolences as they deal with this terrible news," the Buccaneers wrote on social media.
