Beyoncé Announces Renaissance Tour

A post on Beyoncé's social media says that she will start her first solo tour since 2016 on Wednesday. In support of her seventh studio album, Renaissance, she will start her Renaissance World Tour on May 10 in Stockholm. She will stay in Europe until June, when she will head to North America. At least 40 concerts will be part of the tour, and most of them will be in stadiums. The tour will stop in New Jersey on July 29 at MetLife Stadium and in Inglewood, California on September 2 at SoFi Stadium, as well as in Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto, Atlanta, Phoenix, and Miami.

Members of Beyoncé's fan club, BeyHive, will be the first to get tickets to her limited tour starting on Monday. More seats will be given out by market through a tiered registration system. The tour will use Ticketmaster's Verified Fan system to get rid of bots and scalpers. It will be put on by Parkwood Entertainment and presented by Live Nation. Last year, when early tickets for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour were in high demand, people were angry and the government looked into it. This is one of Ticketmaster's first big tests after that.

During a Senate Judiciary hearing last month, artists, fans, and lawmakers said that Live Nation Entertainment, which owns Ticketmaster, is a monopoly that hurts consumers and makes it harder for other companies to compete. Beyoncé will be giving her first public live performances since her On the Run II tour with Jay-Z in 2018 and her Lemonade solo tour in 2016. In 2018, she was the main act at Coachella. After the scandal with Taylor Swift's Eras Tour tickets, Ticketmaster will be judged on how well they handled the new tour.

Critics liked Beyoncé's 2019 "Homecoming" performance, which was later released as a live album and concert film. The New York Times said that it was "historically, politically, and visually grand," with "noisy, raucous, and opulent" parts. Since then, Beyoncé has only made a few appearances, including her Grammy-winning song "Black Parade" and the song "Be Alive" from the movie "King Richard," which was nominated for an Oscar. In 2022, for the 94th Academy Awards, she recorded a version of the song.

In July 2022, Beyoncé released an album called "Renaissance." It was a dance album with songs like "Break My Soul" and "Cuff It" that were influenced by the LGBTQ community. She is up for nine Grammy Awards in 2022, and if she wins them all, she could be the most honored musician ever. Beyoncé says that "Renaissance" is one of three songs she recorded during the epidemic to create a safe space for self-expression and freedom from the pressure to be perfect.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, music touring has mostly come back, especially with big acts. Because of pent-up demand, inflation, and the popularity of musicians like Bad Bunny, Elton John, and Harry Styles, the touring industry will make a record $6.28 billion in 2021, which is a 13% increase from 2019. In addition to Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Metallica, Morgan Wallen, and Madonna will all be on tour this year.

Last month, Beyoncé's performance at the opening of a high-end hotel in Dubai for a small group of influential people and journalists made a lot of people angry. Some fans criticized her for taking so much money in a country where being gay is illegal, and others criticized her for not playing any songs from her latest album, "Renaissance."
